THE ASSOCIATION OF NATURE PATRIARCHS IN ITALY AT THE BEIJING EXPO

Creation, coordination, green, openness and exchange are the key words of the exhibition. The Association of Nature Patriarchs had the honour to attend the event at the Vatican’s pavilion.

 

The president Sergio Guidi has attended the conference Innovation and Protection: towards environmental challenges giving his lecture on “Biodiversity: the trees of the future come from the past”, in order to explain the role of the protection of ancient varieties and the preservation of biodiversity. The main objective of his speech was not only to explain the purpose of the association and the goals already achieved in Italy, but also to encourage China to recover that biodiversity which is in danger of extinction. This occurred on 14th September, Italian National Day of the Vatican.

 

The conference took place at Hyatt Regency Beijing Shiyuan, opposite to the Expo fair. Besides Sergio Guidi, there were other lecturer such as Frans Alexander Otten, Kazuhiko Nishi and two researchers JIN Peng of the University of Beijing.
