President

Sergio Guidi was born in Predappio in 1954 and currently lives in Forlimpopoli.
He pursued a degree in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Bologna and has been a qualified agronomist and forestry officer since 1988. He works at the ARPAE section of Forlì-Cesena (the regional agency for the protection of the environment) as head of the Biodiversity operating unit and as coordinator of projects aiming at analysing the critical elements of the environment, as well as those of historical value.
He is a member of the European institute for environment and of the Accademia Artusiana in Forlimpopoli. He has carried out censuses on spontaneous flora and monumental trees in Italy and has collaborated with the former Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ecological and Forestry Agency, in order to create projects aiming at the environmental promotion and at the conservation of the germplasm of ancient varieties of both fruit and monumental trees. He created the Biodiversity Gardens Network in Emilia-Romagna for the conservation of the germplasm and the study of climate change. He collaborated with magazines such as “Airone”, “Terra e Vita” and “Informatore Agrario” and has published several educational books about the environment, the biodiversity and medicinal herbs.
