newsThe Patriarchs of Nature Association Brings "Tonino Guerra's Breath" to Venice
On Wednesday, September 3, on the occasion of the 82nd International Film Festival
organized by the Venice Biennale, the Patriarchs of Nature Association,
in collaboration with the Venice Forest Committee, planted "Tonino's Breath" in the Lido gardens, about
a hundred meters from the red carpet where directors and actors parade. This small fig
tree, taken from the mother plant that grows in Pennabilli, is dedicated to Tonino Guerra and Federico Fellini,
figures who have made significant contributions to the world of cinema.
Tonino loved and respected trees to the point of saying, "When we encounter a tree, it's
time to say good morning, Mr. Tree." And when he went, as he said, "into the other room,"
the Patriarchi Association wanted to pay homage to him by reproducing the very fig tree that grows near
his house and which has certainly absorbed the carbon dioxide trapped in its wood,
so we can call it "Tonino's Breath."
The placement of the young fig tree in the garden of the Palazzo del Cinema represents a stop on the itinerary
Forest in Venice, a message between earth and sky that includes the addition of several twin trees
linked to great figures of culture and art in an alternative tourist route
that winds through Venice's most important monumental gardens.
